SubhanAllah Alhamdulillah Allahu Akbar in Arabic Text

These words can be written in Arabic text as

سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ، الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ، اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ

Subhanallah Alhamdulillah Allahu Akbar Meaning in English

Subhanallah means Allah is free from imperfection Alhamdulillah means All praise is due to Allah Allahu Akbar means Allah is Greatest.

• “Subhanallah (Allah is free from imperfection)“: It is an expression of His transcendence from any imperfection, necessitating the negation of any partner, companion, offspring, or anything unworthy.
• “Alhamdulillah (All praise is due to Allah)“: Beautiful commendation in all its forms, acknowledging gratitude solely to Allah, encompassing all types of praise fixed for the Lord of the worlds.

SubhanAllah (tasbih)

Subhanallah means to glorify Allah above any imperfection or deficiency i.e. Allah is free from all defects. Allah is the Most Glorified Who has no partner or rival, Who possesses every aspect of perfection, and Whose actions are pure and free from evil.

Alhamdullilah (tahmid)

Alhamdullilah is an expression that encompasses both: gratitude (for what Allah has blessed us with) and praise (Allah is worthy of every possible praise on account of His very existence, as well as for His Mercy, Generosity and all of His other Noble Attributes and Names).

He is Praised by virtue of His Praise for Himself and by virtue of His servants’ praise for Him.

Their praise of Him emanates from their love and reverence of Him. Whilst uttering ِalhamdulillah, one should reflect on the blessings of Allah and His Perfect Names.

The prophet SAW said: “There is none who likes to be praised more than Allah does.” (Bukhari)

“When Allah grants a blessing to a slave, upon which the slave praises Him, the praise of the slave is better than the blessing itself.” (Ibn Majah)

What Is The Difference Between Subhanallah And Alhamdulillah?

SubhanAllah means Negating all defects and flaws i.e. Allah is free from all shortcomings. While Alhamdulillah is Affirming all of the attributes of perfection and majesty for Allah.

Allahu Akbar (takbir)

Allahu akbar means ‘Allah is Greater than…’ By not specifying what He is Greater than, one is saying that He is Greater than everything.

Allah is Greater than anything we can imagine and His Greatness encompasses all things: He is Great in His Essence, His Names, His Attributes and His Actions.

Allah is Supreme and Transcendent above every limitation and deficiency that is inherent in created beings.

Our limited minds are unable to comprehend the Greatness of Allah. However one can attempt to appreciate His Greatness by pondering over His creation.

When a person ponders on the greatness of Allah’s creation such as the heavens, the earth, His Kursi and His Majestic Throne, and then realizes his own inability to comprehend them due to their greatness, he arrives at the most important realization: how Great must their Creator be!

“The seven heavens in comparison to the Kursi is nothing but like a ring thrown in a desert, and the excellence of the Throne of Allah over the Kursi is like the excellence of that desert over that ring.” (Bayhaqi)

When To Say SubhanAllah, Alhamdulillah Allahu Akbar

It is recommended to say these Zikr on a daily basis as Allah SWT says in Surah Al Azhab verse 41.

“O You who believe! Remember Allah with much remembrance”

And Abdullah bin Busr (RA) narrated that: A man said: “O Messenger of Allah (SAW), indeed, the legislated acts of Islam have become too much for me, so inform me of a thing that I should stick to.” He (SAW) said: “Let not your tongue cease to be moist with the remembrance of Allah.” Tirmidhi hadith 3375.

Subhanallah, Alhamdulillah Allahu Akbar After Salah

SubhanAllah, Alhamdulillah Allahu akbar is recited 33 times after every fard Salah. The rewards and benefits can be seen in the below Hadith.

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, “He who recites after every prayer:

Subhan-Allah (Allah is free from imperfection) thirty-three times; Al-hamdu lillah (praise be to Allah) thirty-three times; Allahu Akbar (Allah is Greatest) thirty-three times; And completes the hundred with: La ilaha illallahu, wahdahu la sharika lahu, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamdu, wa Huwa ‘ala kulli shai’in Qadir (there is no true god except Allah.

He is One and He has no partner with Him. His is the sovereignty and His is the praise, and He is Omnipotent), will have all his sins pardoned even if they may be as large as the foam on the surface of the sea.”

Saying Subhanallah Alhamdulillah Allahu Akbar before sleeping Hadith

Narrated Ali: Fatima complained of what she suffered from the hand mill and from grinding, when she got the news that some slave girls of the booty had been brought to Allah’s Messenger (SAW).

She went to him to ask for a maid-servant, but she could not find him, and told Aisha of her need. When the Prophet (SAW) came, Aisha informed him of that.

The Prophet (SAW) came to our house when we had gone to our beds. (On seeing the Prophet) we were going to get up, but he said, ‘Keep at your places,’ I felt the coolness of the Prophet’s feet on my chest. Then he said, “Shall I tell you a thing which is better than what you asked me for?

When you go to your beds, say: ‘Allahu Akbar (i.e. Allah is Greater)’ for 34 times, and ‘Al hamdu Li llah (i.e. all the praises are for Allah)’ for 33 times, and Subhan Allah (i.e. Glorified be Allah) for 33 times. This is better for you than what you have requested.”

Subhanallah Alhamdulillah Allahu Akbar How Many Times

After every fard, when you finished saying Astagfirullah 3 times and Allahumma antas salam, you should recite Subhanallah Alhamdulillah Allahu Akbar 33 times each. While before sleeping you should recite Subhanallah Alhamdulillah 33 times and Allahu Akbar 34 times.

There are many texts, which show the excellence of these statements that emphasize this great matter, and the value of these statements and the resulting great reward when establishing them and their noble excellence and their continuous benefits in the Dunya and the Hereafter.

We will attempt to present some of the excellence of these statements from some of the texts, which mention these benefits.

• 1- So from the excellence of these words is that they are the most beloved speech to Allah.
• 2- From their excellence is that the Prophet (ﷺ) informed us that they are more beloved to him than what the sun rose upon (i.e. from the Dunya and what is in it)
• 3- From the excellence of the status of these words, is that they are an expiation for sins.
• 4- From the excellence of these words is that they are plants of Paradise,
• 5 – From its excellence is that there is none better according to Allah than a believer who lives his life in Islam and says ‘Allahu akbar, Subhana Allaahi, la ilaaha il-lallah, and al-Hamdu lillaahi,’ a lot.
• 6- From their excellence is that Allah chose these statements and chose them for His slave, and Allah has set aside for the one who remembers Allah saying them, with great and abundant reward.
• 7- From their virtues is: that they are a protection from the Hell-Fire for the one who says them and they will come as a saviour on the Day of Judgement for the one who says them and they will precede him.
• 8 – And from its benefits is: that they make a curve around the ‘Arsh of ar-Rahman and they have a buzzing sound like the buzzing of the bee, by which they mention/remember the one who said them.
• 9 – From their excellence: that the Prophet (ﷺ) mentioned that they are heavy on the scales.
• 10- From the excellence of these words is that for the slave of Allah they are Sadaqah (giving charity) when he says each one of them.
• 11 – From the excellence of these statements is that the Prophet (ﷺ) made these statements in place of the Noble Qur’an for the one who truly cannot read it.
