La ilaha illallah wahdahu la sharika lah means “There is none worthy of worship except Allah, and He is alone, He has no partner, to Him belongs the supreme authority and praise and He is able to do all things”.

La Ilaha Illallah Wahdahu La Sharika Lahu Lahul Mulku in Arabic

Laa ilaha illallah wahdahu la sharika lahu lahul mulku full dua is written in Arabic as:

لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ، وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ، وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ‏

Transliteration

The transliteration of this dua is La ilaha illallahu wahdahu la sharika lahu lahul mulku wa lahul hamdu wa huwa ala kulli shay in qadeer.

This dhikr has a great meaning, and every believer must contemplate its meaning:

  • There is no true God except Allah: This sentence means that there is no true deity except Allah alone.
  • He is One and He has no partner with Him means He has no partner in His divinity, nor in His Lordship, nor in His Names, nor in His Attributes, nor in His Actions. He is the rich, strong, who does not need a partner.
  • He is the Sovereignty means That is, greatly blessed is Allah to whom belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. Similarly, all that is between them is also under His ownership and control. To Him also belongs the knowledge of the last Hour, when all of these have served their purpose and the time for them to perish has arrived. Ultimately, everything will be brought back to Him.
  • His is the Praise, Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. The Beneficent, the Merciful. Master of the Day of Judgement.
  • He is Omnipotent over all things: He is All-Powerful.

La Ilaha Illallah Wahdahu La Sharika Lahu Lahul Mulku Hadith

There are several hadiths which state the virtue of saying this great zikr among them is;

1. Hadith

Narrated Abu Ayyash: The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: If anyone says in the morning:

There is no god but Allah alone Who has no partner; to Him belong the dominions, to Him praise is due, and He is Omnipotent,” he will have a reward equivalent to that for setting free a slave from among the descendants of Isma’il.

He will have ten good deeds recorded for him, ten evil deeds deducted from him, he will be advanced ten degrees, and will be guarded from the Devil till the evening. If he says them in the evening, he will have a similar recompense till the morning.

The version of Hammad says: A man saw the Messenger of Allah (SAW) in a dream and said: Messenger of Allah! AbuAyyash is relating such and such on your authority. He said: Abu Ayyash has spoken the truth.

2. Laa Ilaha Illallah Wahdahu La Sharika Lahu Lahul Mulku 100 Times Hadith

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said, “If one says one-hundred times in one day:

“None has the right to be worshipped but Allah, the Alone Who has no partners, to Him belongs Dominion and to Him belong all the Praises, and He has power over all things (i.e. Omnipotent)”,

one will get the reward of manumitting ten slaves, and one-hundred good deeds will be written in his account, and one-hundred bad deeds will be wiped off or erased from his account, and on that day he will be protected from the morning till evening from Satan, and nobody will be superior to him except one who has done more than that which he has done.”

Sahih al-Bukhari 3293

3. Hadith

Amr bin Shuaib narrated from his father, from his grandfather, that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “The best of supplication is the supplication of the Day of Arafah. And the best of what I and the Prophets before me have said is:

None has the right to be worshipped but Allah, Alone, without partner, to Him belongs all that exists, and to Him belongs the Praise, and He is powerful over all things. (Lā ilāha illallāh, waḥdahu lā sharīka lahu, lahul-mulku wa lahul-ḥamdu, wa huwa `alā kulli shai’in qadīr).’”

Narrated by al-Tirmidhi (3585).

La ilaha Illaallah Wahdahu La Sharika Lahu Benefits

He who utters Laa ilaaha illallaahu wahdahu laa shareekallah, lahul-Mulk, walahul-hamd wahuwa ‘alaa kulli shay-in Qadeer hundred times (100 times) in a day, will attain these five benefits:

  • Firstly, a reward equivalent to that of emancipating ten slaves;
  • Secondly, a hundred good deeds will be recorded to his credit;
  • Thirdly, a hundred of his sins will be blotted out from his scroll;
  • Fourthly, he will be safeguarded against the devil; and
  • Fifthly, no one will exceed him in doing more excellent good deeds except someone who did more than what he has done.

You will earn these five virtues if you say, Laa ilaaha illallaahu wahdahu laa shareekallah, lahul-Mulk, walahu l-hamd wahuwa ‘alaa kulli shay-in Qadeer, a hundred times.

And this is very easy. It is one of the Morning And Evening Duas, you may repeat it while awaiting the Fajr prayer after reaching the mosque or after dawn, you will get benefit from it.

This is also one of the matter a person is required to do frequently. It is good to say it in the first part of the day in order to safeguard himself from the Devil.

لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ يحي و يميت وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

Transliteration

Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah wahdahu laa shareeka lah, lahu’l-mulk wa lahu’l-hamd yuhyi wa yumeet wa huwa ‘ala kulli shay’in qadeer.

Meaning

There is no God but Allaah alone, with no partner or associate, His is the Dominion and to Him be praise, He gives life and gives death, and He has power over all things.

1 time after every fardh prayer, except Maghrib and Fajr wherein this has to be recited 10 times.

`Umarah bin Shabib As-Saba’i narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

“Whoever says: none has the right to be worshipped but Allah, Alone, without partner, to Him belongs all that exists, and to Him belongs the praise, He gives life and causes death, and He is powerful over all things,

(Lā ilāha illallāh, waḥdahu lā sharīka lahu, lahul-mulku wa lahul-ḥamdu, yuḥyī wa yumītu, wa huwa alā kulli shai’in qadīr)’ ten times at the end of Al-Maghrib – Allah shall send for him protectors to guard him from Shaitan until he reaches morning, and Allah writes for him ten good deeds, Mujibat, and He wipes from him ten of the destructive evil deeds, and it shall be for him the equal of freeing ten believing slaves.”
